Why Auroo?

The Problem: Traditional e-commerce platforms are dominated by large retailers. Local neighborhood grocery stores struggle to compete and often remain digitally invisible. Customers still prefer the trust and freshness of local shops but lack an easy way to order online.

How It Started

Auroo was founded with a simple observation: neighborhood grocery stores in India are disappearing, replaced by large organized retail chains/Quick-Commerce. Yet customers still crave the quality, freshness, and personal touch of their local shopkeeper.

The challenge was that most shopkeepers lacked the resources or technical expertise to go online. We decided to change that by building a platform that is as simple to use as a phone call, with orders delivered via email and payment in cash.

AUROO ? Auroo is a phrase from Marwadi shopkeepers, warmly spoken at the counter to mean, “Auroo Kai Levo Saa?”— an inviting way of asking if you’d like anything more.

Our Impact

Since launch, Auroo has helped Some of local grocery stores reach hundreds of customers online, enabling same-day delivery from trusted neighborhood shops. We continue to expand across neighborhoods, supporting shopkeepers and strengthening communities.
